01Who we are

Senior judgement, applied where it matters.

KDV INC is a boutique advisory and assurance practice founded in 2019 and led by a Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor. We are appointed where the work is complex, the stakes are high and the client needs senior judgement rather than volume: a fully outsourced finance unit, strategic finance direction, business rescue, board advisory, financial modelling and independent audit quality review. We also guide owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs — overseeing their finances and growing them to funder-ready.

Boutique, not general

We do not compete on compliance volume. Our work is bespoke advisory, restructuring and technical review for clients whose situation does not fit a standard service line.

Director on every engagement

The Managing Director scopes, leads and signs off every mandate. Clients deal with the decision-maker, not an account manager.

Assurance-grade credibility

Appointed by the Auditor-General of South Africa as a pre-issuance reviewer of audit files. The same rigour is applied to every board paper, model and memorandum we issue.

Executive oversight, scalable delivery

An executive group of qualified professionals oversees every mandate, with engagement resources deployed and scaled to the work — the efficiency of a small firm with the reach of a large one.

02What we do

One partner. The whole finance function.

We act as a strategic finance partner: everything a traditional accounting firm delivers, run as your finance unit and directed at review, reporting and decision-making.

01

Outsourced finance unit

Full-function bookkeeping, management accounts, annual financial statements, payroll, VAT and tax compliance, statutory and CIPC administration — operated as your finance department.

02

Strategic finance direction

CFO-level review of results, board and shareholder reporting, budgets, cash-flow management and KPIs. Head of Group Finance, CFO and interim CEO mandates.

03

Advisory & business rescue

Turnaround strategy, restructuring, forensic investigation, funder proposals and board reference memoranda for boards and business rescue practitioners.

04

Financial modelling & valuations

Investment memoranda, cash-flow and cycle models, restructuring and funding models, company valuations for transactions and estates.

05

Assurance & technical review

Independent review of audit files and working papers, pre-issuance reviews for the AGSA, technical opinions on accounting and audit matters.

06

Public sector & governance

PFMA, GRAP, procurement and compliance audit expertise; audit committee membership; governance and SAICA-accredited training.

03Where we work

Public and private sector. Complex groups.

Our experience spans regulated public entities and multi-industry private groups, which gives us a rare fluency in both PFMA and IFRS environments.

Sector knowledge is applied, not catalogued — we bring it into the boardroom, the model and the audit file.

AGSA pre-issuance review panel — 2019 to date

The Managing Director is appointed, in her personal capacity, to the Auditor-General's panel of pre-issuance review specialists: independent quality review of completed audit files before the audit report is issued, against the Public Audit Act, PFMA/MFMA, Treasury Regulations and GRAP. Reviews are performed for the AGSA, not for the auditees.

Training the public sector

Audit quality and file review training for all AGSA provincial offices and the national office (2024). Public-sector programmes with Enterprises University of Pretoria on AoPO, performance reporting and compliance (2015–2021): Interfront, Office of the Premier North West, RTMC and officials across departments and entities.

Standing with a board through business rescue

Alongside the board and rescue team of an agricultural investment group: strategy pre-reads, investor-update reviews, exposure schedules, board whitepapers and a sub-group restructure — clear thinking when every decision carried weight.

Forensic

Giving a board the facts it needed

A receivables-finance company in business rescue asked for the truth about suspected irregular transactions. We traced them and set out the findings in a board reference memorandum with evidence schedules the practitioners could rely on.

Funder proposal

Helping a property find its next chapter

Student accommodation converting to residential letting: a conversion whitepaper, 20-year repayment models and a restructuring proposal that gave a senior lender and a provincial housing fund a credible way forward.

AGSA · Quality assurance

Independent quality assurance across national public-sector audits

Pre-issuance reviews of completed audit files for the Auditor-General of South Africa since 2019 — national entities, regulators and a municipality — and audit-file-quality training for AGSA auditors at all provincial and national offices.

Growth advisory

Growing alongside an owner-managed collective

Group and tax structuring, strategic direction for growth and review of a business acquisition for a multi-brand creative and design collective — with outsourced finance on the owners’ client projects, so the founders stay on the work, not the books.

Outsourced finance

Bringing a complex, diversified group together

Group finance function on retainer across ±19 entities in agriculture, property and finance. We centralised the management of it all — one set of processes, one reporting rhythm, one view for the board — so the owner no longer carries every loose end alone, and can trust the numbers.
